Spiritual Needs
For whatever reason, some of us seem to have spiritual needs.
There is no such need. Spiritual need is an oxymoron.
All needs are physical, biological or personal. It is the character of the body to need things. And when things can no longer satiate these needs, it is the body that is craving for something more like spiritual, meditation, religion.

If you feel drawn towards spiritual matters, look carefully. You may find it is just another drive from consciousness.
This is not a commendation or damnation. This is just as it is.
Peter Russell has an excellent presentation on consciousness and physics. You may agree with him that all there is, is consciousness that drives the universe and is the universe. One day physicists will find out that even the Big Bang followed a certain play of consciousness.
I see the universe as an expression of the consciousness which seems to be its only apparent need. It expresses itself in myriad of ways. First as inert matter which learns to bring life to matter which learns to express in languages bringing us here, trying to figure out who ordered all this?
